' On behalf of all New Zcalanders who are jiow serving, and lliose who have served, ill this great striipjflo for our Kiiipr and Empire anil the freedom of the world, I thank you sincerely for your stirring message, which lias been circulated amongst all ranks. We thank (iod for giving us and our Allies so great and complete a victory, and ivc thank the people of New Zealand for their appreciation of our efforts, for their eontinu(i!!''. support, and their sympathy. We lire proud to have fought with the great and jvftllant armies of France and Great Britain, to whom the greatest share of the victor is due. Our first thoughts will ever he of those comrades who have consecrated the soil of France, Tielgimu, Oallipoli, and Palestine, and to their relatives, who, we trust, will lie consoled by the fact that the lives of these heroes have not heen aiven in vain."
