WELLINGTON BY-ELECTION.
PROBABLE CANDIDATE,:
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 20.
It is understood to be almost certain that Councillor George Frost will consent to stand for the Wellington South seat. The selection of a Labor candidate will be made at an early date. Mr. M. J. Reurdon, president of the Trades and Labor Council, Ims been nominated by that body, and nominations are also expected from other organisations affiliated to the Labor Representation Committee, which will hold a ballot to decide who shall be the candidate. It is rumored that Mr. M. J. Read (secretary of the Engiuedrivers' Association) and Mr. W. T. Young (general secretary of the Seamen's Union) will be nominated by those bodies.
