ON THE GERMAN FRONTIER,

AMERICANS' PROGRESS.

New York, Nov. 25. Mr. James, telegraphing from Luxemburg on Saturday, says: The welcome given to the American army of occupation decreased considerably when the forces reached the German border along the north-east edge of Luxemburg, where libe German population predominates.

Our front now extends from Wallendorf to Sierck. Our men may remain where they are for several days, until the Allied troops reach the same line on the left. I saw thousands and thousands of German soldiers across a narrow strip of water. None seemed belligerents, and they extended frequent invitations to our men to come over and visit them, but t'he strict orders against fraternising kept the doughboys on our side. — Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
