PARLIAMENT.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Legislative Council met at 11.30. After the transaction of formal business the Council adjourned for the pur-; ppse of presenting the new Speaker (the Hon. W. 0. Carncross) to the Gov-ernor-Genera!.
On resuming at 2.30 the Legislative Council Act (1914) Amendment Bill was referred to the Statutes Revision Committee, when the Council adjourned to 2.30 on Tuesday next.
CAUCUS OF REFORM PARTY. A caucus meeting of the Reform Party ended just before one o'clock to-day. Mr. Massey states that the party arrived at a complete understanding in various matters, and was unanimous on all important points of the proposed legislation. The party was wholly in favor of New Zealand's representation at the peace conference. It was agreed that details should he left to the two leaders.
