PEACE RUMORS.
PREVENTIVE STEPS TO BE TAKEN REPRESENTATION AT PEACE CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Our Parity, Reporter. Wellington, Last Night. The unconfirmed peace report dislocated Parliamentary business to-day. Mr. Massoy regretted the disappointment and loss caused to the public, and stated that stops would be taken to prevent further unsubstantiated reports being circulated. He said that lie did not expect an armistice announcement for a few days, and the Government would issue the news officially immediately it was received. It is understood in the lobbies that Mr. Massey has received an invitation to attend the peace conference, but no official announcement has yet been made as to his intentions. The disposition of the House appears to be to push the business through and relieve the Ministers, but it is also suggested that Mr. Massey may leave Sir Joseph Ward in charge.
