DISTRICT NEWS.
MIDHIRST. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr T. Sherson has received vonl from the Defence authorities that his second son, Fred., who was wounded on October 8, had heen transferred from France to a London hospital, and on October 31st he received a cable from his son slating that he was progressing favorably. Private C. G. Bloxham, who was recently reported killed in action, was well known and highly respected in this locality, ar.d deep s.ympalhv is extended to his father, Mr J. S. Bloxham, of the Salisbury road, in his great loss. The oimrcSv bell was rung, and universal rejoicing took place, when the splendid war news was received here on the morning of the Ist inst. A welcome home concert and dance in honor of Private P. Treves and .Tones is to be held in the. hall on the (ith inst.
