MEETING OF COMMITTEE; Th* first meeting of the newly-elected committee of the Tarauaki .Agricultural! Society was held on Saturday afternoon.' Mr. 1. S. Longstaff, F. Stanley, E. Jackson, W. Hall, A. Turnhull, S. Topless, T. N. Blackball, A. S. Gudopp, A. E. Washer, W. Morris, H. L. Spence, E. D. Ansford, •L. Bishop. E. Bayly, H. Moverley, F. Hodson, J. H. Allen, G. Gilbert, H. Olson, H. Ward, T. SmeHie, W. M'Kenzie, B, Johnson, H. Linn, and J. R. Hill. It was decided that the General Committee hold its meetings monthly on the first Saturday after the 20th, in each month. The executive will meet on the previous Wednesday in each month. Messrs J. S. Connett, Q, W. Browne, L. A. Nolan, A. E. Washer, W B. Grant, O Fairbrother, C. Dobson, B. Honeyfield, C. W. Ruebe, A. T. Moore, N. W. Hill, H. C Sampson, J. R- Hill, G. Colson, J. R. Rowlands, W. Scott, C. Hoskin, A- Lister, H. Benton, L. Jackson, HMoverley, E. Jackson, F. Stanley, H. J. Koller 'were appointed the executive committee. Messrs Connett, Browne, Nolan, Grant, Sampson, (Fairbrother, Dobson, and Hoskin were appointed to constitute the Finance Committee, and Messrs Grant, Sampson, Dobson, and Hoskin tho Grounds Committee. It was- decided to communicate witb all the breeders' associations, asking, for their revised lists of official judges. A letter was received from Mr. E. Jackson, offering a £lO 10s cup for the champion dairy cow of any breed, the cup to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals. Mr. Jackson also offered a gold medal value £2 2s to go to the winner each year. Mr. Jackson suggests that the class be judged by all tie judges in the dairy cattle, classes, in conjunction. • A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Jackson for his generous offer, and it was decided to place on record the appreciation of the societyMr. Paul Hunter, president of the New Zealand Kennel Club, will be asked to appoint a delegate to represent the society at the annual meeting of the Eennnel Club.
Messrs Sampson, Luxton, Topless, King, and Rowlands were appointed a committee to go into the question of the rural section at the next Winter Show, also the field competitions. The same committee will "also revise the schedule dealing with the green feed competition a,t Autumn Show. The dates for the Winter Show were fixed for June 11, 12, 13, and 14. It was decided to again institute a gift stock campaign and active canvass for donations. The president expressed his intention of donating £lO 10s and accrued interest on his debentures. Mr. H. C. Sampson said he would donate a pedigree Jersey bull, Mr. T. Luxton a grade Jersey bull, Mr. C. W. Ruebo an IS-months' steer, and Mr. N. W. Hill a yearling heifer. .Members of the committee will canvass their respective districts. Messrs W. J. Clare,- W. H. Whittaker, and A. J, Reading were elected members of the society.
