The Canadian-Pacific Company announces having been advised (that the steamer Princess Sophia struck a reef in the Lynn Canal, with, the result that 268 passengers and, 75 of the crew perished; —Aus.-N Z. Cable Assoc. Received Oct. 27, 11.20 p.m. Vancouver, Oct. 28. Responding to s.o.s. signals, several vessels approached the Princess Sofia, but were unable to transfer the passengers, owing to the gale. The Princess Sofia was pounded on the rocks, and if; is not believed, that there are any gu&i vivors.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc.
