SHOOTING FATALITY.

i«i unfortunate result of a "JOKE." Gisborne. October 23. Information was received in Gisborne this afternoon tliat a shooting fatality had occurred at Te Karaka, the victim heing Harold Powell, twenty years of age. It ia stated that deceased _ was practising revolver shooting with a friend, and threatened to shoot himself, intending to use an empty chamber, a joke he had played previously. Unfortunately the wrong chamber was used. : Powell 'died soon afterwards.
