The Xew York Times' Washington correspondent states that cables received by the Italian Embassy from General Diaz, Italian Generalissimo, indicate that an offensive may have started on the front. The Italians airat'ted* in the region of Monte Grappa, the Trench at Mount Sisomel, and the British south of the Asiago—Aus. Cable Assoc. I SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS. ENEMY'S POSITIONS PENETRATED. , Received Oct. 25, 7.30 p.m. London, Oct. 24. An Italian official message states: The French penetrated the enemy's positions at Mount Sissonal, taking 730 prisoners. The British, southward of the Asiago, stormed trenches, taking 214 prisoners. We raided the ridge southward of Assa, prisonering 100.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc, and Reuter.
