BAND CARNIVAL

mm • I DRAW FOR TUG-OF-WAR. The following is the draw for the schools' tug-of-war competition:—Omata v. West End A, West End B v. Central A, Bell Block B v. West End C, West End © v. Central D, West End E v. Central C, West End F v. Frankley Road, Bell Block A v. West End Q, Technical A v. West End H, and Central B v. Technical B, and Fitzroy a bye. The committee wish all the boys to be on the ground at 1 o'clock, and the cap tain of each team to hand to the stewards the names and correct weights of each member of the team. It has been decided that, in addition to the meflalß to be given, each member of the winning team will also receive a certificate, signed by the carnival officials, and showing the name, age. weight of the contestants, and the team to which he belonged.

Both processions in connection with the Band Carnival will be marshalled in St. Aubyn Street, near the railway station. They will then proceed to the Post Office, via Queen Street, then up Devon Street and Liardet Street to the Park. Members of the band will be in their Pierrot costumes day and night. Exhibitors of decorated prams and gocarts assemble on the ground at 1 p.m. Those in fancy costumes will take part in processions from St- Aubyn Street, day and night. A working bee is called for to-dny (Saturday), at 1.30 p.m. The committer desire the assistance of as many willing workers !13 possible. Marnuees have to be erected and stalls built. Many hands make light work.

The ladies in charge of the stalls at the Brticl Carnival will he glad to receive donations of cakes, etc, for refreshments.-■ Under the supervision of ivfrs. Biirsess. stalls will be conducted 'hv >l>s. 0. Rullnt, Mrs. F. W. 0. McLeod. the Wompn's Patriotic Committee, and n.l»o the ladies, of the Red Cross. Miss Andrews' . committee of girls are also workin* Quietly, and the public are assured that flip sweets and soft, drinks are in capable bands'.
