PRISONERS OF WAR. A CONDITION OP PEACE. London, Oct. 23. The Unionist and Liberal War Committees debated the position of prisoners of war in Germany and elsewhere. The Liberal Committee resolved that the Allies, as a condition of peace, should insist on the surrender and trial of all suspected of cruelties to prisoners.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. THE WAR CABINET, DOMINION REPRESENTATION. London, Oct. 23. Mr. Bonar Law, in the House of Commons, said that the Dominion Governments had not yet formally nominated Ministers to act as regular members of the Imperial War Cabinet, but Sir Robert Borden recently arranged for a Canadian representative to attend any meetings occurring. General Smuts wag available as representative of South Africa, and Mr. Hughes was available to represent Australia. Several meetings had been held since the last plenary sessions.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. SOME GOVERNMENT VESSELS TO BE SOLD.
London, Oct. 23. The Press Bureau states that the Government has decided to sell a limited number of Government-owned vessels to owners who (have lost ships by submarinings, in order to replace losses. The decision will not affect the use of the vessels during the war emergency.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
