REGULATING MOTOR TRAFFIC.

UNIFORM BY-LAWS. At the conclusion of the hydro-elec-tric conference. on Thursday at Stratford the chairman mentioned the matter of the control of motor traffic, which he said affected all the load governing bodies, and he thought an expression of opinion from the representatives present might help in coming to some uniform decision on the matter. He submitted the following resolution, which was seconded by Mr Murdoch, and carried:— That this meeting of representatives of local bodies is of opinion that the various local bodies in Taranaki should make by-laws governing motor traffic, and in doing so, should seek uniformity in the following matters relating thereto: Lights on vehicles; licensing of all mptor vehicle; licensing of all motor vehicle drivers by examination; speed limit; provision for endorsement and for cancellation of drivers' licenses for proved offences against any Government regulations or local body by-laws.
