RESIDENT MINISTER IN LONDON.
[ WILL SIR JOSEPH WARD ACCEPT? (From Our Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Oct. 10. A good deal of interest attaches; to reports that one of the heads of the National Government will go to London as resident Minister, under fho scheme that received the approval of the recent Imperial Conference. The name of Sir Joseph Ward has been mentioned freely in this connection.. When Mr Massey was questioned to-day regarding the possibility of an appointment, he said that he would make a statement to 'Parliament on the subject in due course. He was not willing to' go further into ithe matter just now. There is ground for believing that an i immediate appointment' of the kind indicated is not in contemplation. The rearrangement of Dominion representation in London seems likely to be lett •until after the war, especially m view lof the fact that the Prime Ministers are likely to be called to London again next year.
