In this a bell is attac'hcd to the pig which is set loose and the various competitors, who are blind-folded and have each a similar bell attached, have to smite the pig, being, guided by the sound, of the bell. The mistakes they make cause eonsiderabdlo enjoyment to the spectators. For this competition the committee are desirous of purchasing a pig as ugly as the Kaiser and as fast as Desert Gold. Any farmer possessing or being able to obtain a. suitable animal (the wilder the better) is requested, to get in touch with E. Sole, box 3G, New Plymuoth, who has charge of this event. Mr P. J.
