With regard to the milk question, 1 have still complaints regarding milk turning sour shortly after delivery, and I can honestly state that in two cases it is not owing to the mothers' negligence with regard to cleanliness. This important point, cleanliness, it is my duty to bring before mothers, because, as we all know, so much depends upon it, also ■'':iow" and ''where" to keep it, and I may say that in the majority of cases I believe the mothers do carry out my in&tructions, so that I still have reason to believe that in some cases the milk id mixed, I am very grateful to the society for having forwarded my previous report to the Borough Council, and also grateful to the Mayor and councillors for their consideration. I have also to thank those milkmen who are doing their beat for the babies There are a few who endeavor to serve the morning s milk for the babies,—Florence Williams.

The report was adopted, and the committee felt that mothers could help themselves a very great deal if, where there were babies, they asked their milkmen for the morning milk for the baby. Mrs. Hursthouse wrote resigning from the committee, as she was leaving the town.—The secretary was instructed to write to Mrs- Hurstlfouse expressing the committee's regret at losing such a valued and enthusiastic worker. In order that entertainments, etc., as a means of raising funds, should he well thought out and planned ahead a small sub-committee was formed, consisting of Mesdames Weston, Chancy, Fraser, "and Nicholson.

It was resolved that a deputation, consisting of Mesdames Burgess, Weston, and Allien, wait upon Mr. Sydney Smith, M.P., in order to point out to him how necessary it is, in view of the growth and importance nationally of the Plunket Society, that the Government should continue as hitherto to grant the subsidy of £IOO to each Plunket nurse appointed. A donation of an electric heater for the nurse's office from the Advisory Board and also a hearthrug from Mrs. Newton King were most gratefully received.
