ALLIES' FAXCY-DRESS BALL. Everything is now getting into first-, class order in connection with the above grand ball, which is to take place in -tfio Coronation Hall on October *24. The committe intend sparing no effort towards making this one of the finest and most spectacular functions of its land even seen in New Plymouth!. The grand inarch alone will be a very pretty sight, especially with tlhe ladies in their various patriotic dresses representing the various Allied countries, and also various "British dominions. Handsome prizes are to be awarded to the following competitions:— The best dressed lady representing,., either England, Scotland, Ireland, or" Wales. , Best dressed lady representing any of., the British dominions. Best dressed lady representing any of the Allied countries. Best dressed lady wearing any patriotic dress other than those stated.^ Best dressed gentleman in patriotic dress. The arrangements for tilie supper will bo in charge of a first-class ladies' committee under Mrs Burgegis, th# Mayoress. Tickets, which are very reasonable, are on sale from -any of the Pierrots.
