PROTEST AGAINST BERTHING OVERSEAS VESSELS.

I lie following telegram reached the Minister of Public Health yesterday Irom the secretary of the Waterside W oncers' Union: The Auckland Waterside "Workers' Union emphatically protests against the berthing of an overseas ship at Queen's Wharf, thereby incurring grave risks of infection of the population of Auckland city and the whole Dominion. We consider that, in the interests of the public in general, this vessel should have been placed in quarantine for a period of fourteen' days more particularly a 3 there- had already been one death aboard.
