THE EMPIRE. "THE TURMOIL." Booth Tarkington's interesting novel of American life , "The Turmoil," was screened for tJlie first time at the Empire last evening. It is a brilliant picturisation by the Metro Company of this great novel, which shows a man's greed for wealth and tame so great that he becomes almost inhuman. The turmoil of business has crushed his heart but his salvation comes wihen a charming girl wins the love of his son and finally brings happiness into his life also. It is a picture of big scenes, striking situations and an engrossing narrative. "The Turmoil," with a splendid lot of supports shows again tonight. MATINEE TO-MORROW. A BIG FOX SPECIAL COMEDY. At the matinee to-morrow the principal [attraction will be the screening of the big Fox comedy feature, "Tom and Jerry Mix," a screaming cow-boy comedy feature witili Tom Mix in the leading role. The kiddies know what to yicpect from a Fox comedy, and when that comedy is of a cow-bo nature, with Tom Mix performing, well the fun is simply fast and furious throughout . EVERYBODY'S. To-night will be the final screening of the big triple programme at Everybody's. This selection includes Theda Bara in tllie Fox super-feature "Heart and Soul," Moilie King in a Pathe feature "Kick In," and the eleventh episode of the "Mystery of the Double Cross." The first picture commences at 7.45 sharp. COMING TO-MORROW. MONTAGUE LOVE IN "THE CROSS BEARER." Cardinal Mercier of Belgium is the figure around which the World film drama "The Cross Bearer," has been written. Montague Love is cast in the part of the beloved prelate of Belgium! who 'has stood so sturdily against the aggressions of the German oppressors. There are many convincing scenes 01 what the Belgians suffered at the hands of the Hun and a delightful love story which even amidst all the horrors of the invasion brings peace and happiness to two young lives, through the efforts of the Cardinal.
