ENTERTAINMENTS.

EVERYBODY'S. LAST NIGHT OF "TWO LITTLE • IMPS." "Two Little Imps" is the latest of the Fox productions to hi; screened at Everybody's. "Two Little Imps" is a lightsome comedy, with a thistledown plot and heaps of laughter. All the tale is founded on the opening episode where their mother tahjes two little girls down to the seaside, but, called away suddenly, she leaves them in the care of a young bachelor uncle. Needless to say, the two kiddies are very naughty, and the poor uncle, who, by the way, is in love, and is doing his best to open his heart to the girl of his affections, is. right at his wits' end to know how to atop them. Some of the scenes in "Two Little Imps'' are screamingly funny, but at the same time sympathies go out to the young guardian in his predicaments The two little stars in this picture are the Lee sisters, Katherine (7) and Jane (5) The supporting films include a Blue Eibbon feature, "The Other Man," with Grace Darmond and Marry Morey, in the lead, the current episode of the "Mystery of the Double Cross" and a Topical Gazette The full programme will be finally repeated tonight commencing at 7.45 step. THE EMPIRE. ' "AN AMERICAN LIVE WIRE.

A picture of an exceptionally entertaining character was screened at tlie Empire last night under the title "An American Live Wire." It is one of the most interesting, ■ most vivid and picturesque of 0 Henry's stories of South American life, and it is rather fine to be able to say that the screen ha 3 handled it so successfully "An American Live Wire" was produced by Vitagraph—Earle Williams and Grace Darmond in the two leading parts. Geddie is the hero, and Ida his beloved. ]He comes to think that Ma has done with him. so he goes away and lives as consulate in a little South American republic. There things begin to happen, for a stage professional takes it upon herself to engineer a little revolution, solely for >sier own ends She infatuates the President, and coaxes Mm to abscond with all the funds available The story is cleverly arranged, ami in this Vitagraph version the producers have managed, in some miraculous way, to preserve perfectly the 0. Henry touch. The scenes are generous, sometimes lavish, and the play as a total is perhaps even nearer life than its origins! author made it The supports include .A Lass of the Lumberlands" and other interesting films The same programme will be repeated to-night. COMING TO EVERYBODY'S NEXT TUESDAY 'AND WEDNESDAY. "THE AUCTION BLOCK." Bex Beach is the author of almost a score of novels, and these books have every one been read by millions whoreever the tongue is spoken Beside* this, they have been published r.s serials in ninny ere.it inn'm-in'"* ."'»! idaihes. so that (he name of Rev Pcaoii and the r-tuff he writes, is . known intimately to almost evevvbody That, is why "The Auction Block," when it comes along m picture form, rreales such a great interest, and that is ivhy this film has drawn capacity houses, and why it will continue to draw them for the whole of the New Zealand tour. "The Auction Block" as a story is full of love and hale, revenge and ambition, and in its picture version every phase of every character is clearly shown The scenes of gay revues and millionaire banquets are dazzling, and the beauty of woman with the passions of men are surrounded by such exoi : ■•'•■.{ adornment os to make the film one in a thousand. "The Auction Block" is a Goldwyn picture, with the American beauty Mis: T?ub\e Deremer in the lead Seats rw now be reserved at Collier's without an e: tra cliarge.
