INGLEWODD CO-OP. BACON CO
AXNUAL REPORT. Tho annual report of the Inglewood Bacon Company states:— Unfortunately there has been a considerable decrease in tho number of pigs handled by the company during the year, resulting in an increased cost of working in proportion to the output In view of the fact that the prices paid during the year 'have again been a record for the company, it is a matter for much regTct [that farmers do not pay as much attention to the breeding and rearing of pigs as they might do with advantage to themselves. Unless farmers realise the needl for increasing the production, and take vigorous steps in that direction, it seems highly' probable that before long. . New ZahnuL will hav to look' to Australia as : a source of supply of bacon vo .. ineet; the require* jments of the Jocal demand,
; During the; year, the company has paid tor, the' shareholders the gum of £/¥! ,9lft 4s: Gdj and'.further' payments absorbing £1340 Is Sd have been authorised, whilst' a very liberal amount has been written off for depreciation, Tho share capital amount is very sat- 1 isfactory, tho number of new sharehol-: ders for the year being well maintained. The buildings, machinery,,and plant are kept in a good state of efficiency. Your directors are confident that, with a" supply of pigs equal to the largely increased number which tho factory is; capable,of handling, very much better results can be obtained, withi more profits to the: company aiid to the shareholders. .
