BIG DEVELOPMENTS EXPECTED. 70,000 SERBIAN INSUPvGENTS. London, Oct. 2. With reference to the reported rising in Montenegro, the Daily Chronicle learns from an official that big develop-ments-may also be expected in Serbia. Dalmatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, There are known to be 70,000 armed insurgents in occupied Serbia. A considerable number of Serbian troops escaped to the hills during the invasion, where they have since been waiting an opportunity for guerilla warfare, and have been in communication with the Serbian army by means of aeroplanes. A famous leader recently flew thither and spent a fortnight with them. Those troops, known as the Green Division, led by trained officers, threaten the Austroriungarian retreat, also the German line from Nish to Montenegro and eastwards to the Danube.

The Daily Telegraph's Paris correspondent says the Allies intend to make the fullest use of Bulgaria for military purposes. The correspondent recalls that the Bulgarians in 1917 hanged a thousand Serbians and destroyed all school books in order to kill the language, and sent thousands of boys and girls to Turkey. It is computed a quarter of the Serbian population has been wiped out during the war period.
