SCHOONER FIGHTS U-BOATS. London, Sept. 24. A British schooner put up a remarkaide 4$ hours' fight with a German submarine flotilla. The first submarine attacked at 9 o'clock. The schooner immediately opened fire, hit the submarine the first shot, and the enemy submerged. An hour later a second submarine attacked. The schooner hit the jubmarine twice and drove it off. Finally a third submarine appeared at noon. One of the schooner's shots struck the submarine's gun, killed a* seaman, and the submarine fled.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. .
