OKAHU TUNNEL EXPLOSION. DEATH OF ONE OP THE VICTIMS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, Sept. 21. Kitto, who was shockingly mutilated by an explosion in the Okaliu tunnel yesterday, had one eye blown clean out and was totally blind. Ho died in hospital this morning. Eorthwick received injuries to his face with pellets of papa like shots from a gun. Both eyes are injured. At present he is blind, and may become permanently so. He suffered no body injuries. There are two stories of tha accident —one, that in drilling, the men struck an old charge, and the other that the charge misfired and (hey went to investigate.
