RED CROSS MINSTREL ENTERTAINMENT,
Mrs Hugh Baily wishes to thank Mr Hottman for loan of piano and or°an for use at the Red Cross Star Minstrel entertainment on Thursday last, Messrs Collier &. Co for running free box plan, Mrs Kirkby for use of Kia Ora tea rooms, Mr Hasell for loan of flags. Mr C. X. Johnson for fltig poles, Mesdames Catran and Duff and the Misses Cant, Bradbury and Renaud for making costumes, Mrs Beadle for wigs, and Miss Arden for souvenir programmes, Hooker Bros for cartage and the Herald and News Mesdames Sladden, Griffiths, Russell. .1. Morev, Arthur Avery, and Mr J- Findlay (Hygienic) for decorated cakes, Mesdames killer (Bell block), R George. McAllum, Mackav, Andrews (Smart Road). Dingle, Duff, and Newall for short; bread; Mrs G. Miller and the Misses O. Shaw and G. Bayly for bouquets, Mesdames H. Weston and Alexander and Duncan and Davies, Ltd., for (lowers, the ladies who made sweets and those who assisted wh't supper, Messrs Sargood, Macky Logan, 'Jock and Co., for donations for auction, Mesdames Bartley, Martin, Orfcell and W. Rennell for general assistance, Mrs R. C. Hughes for basket of flowers. Messrs Rennell, Hunter, Booth, Kirkby, Fabian, Brookes and Wilson for controlling the doors and seating. Miss Morey for arranging and controlling sale of sweets, etc., Misses Renaud and Ainsley for controlling the music and stage, Messrs Ellis and Hayden for conducting tlie auction and lastly the performers and sweet sellers.
The total result of the entertainment is approximately £125, made up as follows: —Tickets and doors £(i4, lollies and programmes £7 10s, auction £53 •10s, and as the expenses are approximately only £ls. Thanks to the gratitnous services freely rendered. The "our day" mart will benefit to the extent of £llO. The principal auction bids were as follows: R. D. C'olson £3, A. E. fivkes £2 10s.
