Tho Victoria College Council last night considered a scheme for the extension of the north and south wings of the college in order to provido rooms for tho School of Economics. The estimated cost of the additions is about £20,000Sir Robert Stout considered that the Government would possibly not be prepared to consider such an outlay at ■present, and suggested an appeal to the public. It was decided to prepare detailed plans before the matter was referred to the Cabinet. The council adopted a proposal that professors' salaries, now £7OO, should be increased to £350 by successive yearly increments.
