ARGENTINE MEAT TENDERS. London, Sept. 17. Received Sept. 18, 7.3*1 p.m. The Argentine meat packers, in their tenders for new Government contracts, ask 13a a dozen for J.2oz tins, compared with 10s 9d on the last contract, on the ground of the increased cost of cattle. Possibly Australian packers will secure a similar advance. THE TIN MARKET. ■ London, Sept. 17. It is stated that the steadiness of the tin market is attributable largely to the establishment of the inter-Allied executive in London to control the purchase and distribution and the whole of the purchasing in <> ne firm's hands. Quotations for Straits' tin has heen suspended. This stopped the scramble which led to the recent unnecessary high prices.
