TENDENCY TOWARDS CENTRALISATION. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington Education Board today, decided, in view of the tendency towards centralised control by the Department, to arrange a Dominion conference of education boards to discuss various matters in connection with the status of hoards, uniformity of administrative methods, teachers' salaries, school buildings, grants, etc., convening a committee appointed to make necessary arrangements for the copference which will be held in November. The board also passed a resolution that a committee be set up to confer with the inspectors in regard to the appointment of teachers, such committee to consist-of at least three members, to be elected by the board.
