PARIS BOMBED. A RAIDER BEOUGHT DOWN. Received Sept. 17, 125 p.m. Paris, Sept. W. Several squadrons of enemy aeroplanes bombed 'Paris, despite the intense barrage, There were some victims and material damage. Sept IS, 1.2S ajn. Paris, Sept. M. The air aid was remarkable owing to the number of the enemy and the Intensity of the anti-aircraft guns' reply and to the enemy's great determination, indicating a desire to intimidate the population, perhaps as part of the peace offensive. Official: A German raiding aeroplane was downed in tlhe submsbs of Paris. Three airmen were kiHed.—Aus. IUS, Gable Assoc. and Renter. ■ GERMAN TOWNS BOMBED. EXTENSIVE OPERATIONS. Received Sept. 18, 12.50 &m. London, Sept. 17. The Air Ministry reports:On the night of the lstli and 16th, our aeroplanes heavily and repeatedly attacked four enemy aarodrome3 with excellent result. They started four fires, wrecked three enemy machines on the ground, demolished two hangars, directly hit two other hangars, Mt a transport convoy four times, bombed the railways at Metz-Salblons, causing a fire, successfully attacked the railway junctions at Mane?: and the docks and sidings at Karlsruhe with goods results on both targets, seventeen direct hits being made at Karlsruhe, where 3% tons were dropped, a total of 350 bombs and 16% tons- All oar machines returned.
