MINISTERIAL MOVEMENTS.
■THE HONS. SIR JAMBS ALLEN AND ! D. H. GCTHHIE. The Hon. Sir James Allen (ActingPrime Minister and Minister of Defence) and the Hon. D. H. Guthrie (Minister of Lands) arrived in New Plymouth from Wangamri on Saturday''for the purpose of representing the Government at the funeral of the la/e Mr. H. J. Okey, MP. Sir James Allen expressed his profound regret at the death of the meaner for Taranaki, who, he said, was very popular amongst the members of the House, and was one of the most conscientious workers in the Legislature. Later in the afternoon, / the Ministers were, taken to see the Taranaki Ironaand Company's works at Mo'luroa, where they were shown the results of recent experiments, and matters relating to the development of the industry were brought under their notice Sir James Allen told the officials of VI company that they should formulate a report on what had been accomplished, and stato their requirements, and forward the same to the Minister ofMines. This they agreed to do, and the ActingPrime Minister undertook to bring the matter under the notice of the Minister, on his return to Wellington, and to advise Mm that the report would be coming forward.
On Saturday evening an unofficial visit was paid to the Soldiers' Club, and on Sunday morning the Ministers visited the returned soldiers'who are patients at the hospital-
On account of pressure of official fluties, in Wellington, the party were obliged to return to Wellington to-dav, and so they left by motor yesterday afternoon with the intention of joining the Main Trunk express from Auckland to Wellington at Marton junction this morning.
