Her beauty, her acting ability, and her fascinating personality all combine to make iier an irresistible attraction. Her latest picture is "The Law of Compensation," a Belect feature which, commences a twonight season at the Empire to-night. It is really a story within a story, a difficult method of narrative, and yet in this instance entirely successful. A young wife becomes weary of the dull round of everyday and when a promise of fame and wealth comes to her silt. listens with too eager an car, little dreaming wihat danger lurks behind the promise. Then it is that her father tells her the story of her own mother wo listened to a similar promise. The picture is intensely dramatic and finely done. On the same programme thers is an interesting Pathe Gazette and Francis X. Bushman and Beverly Bayne star in the second episode of "The Great Secret." EVERYBODY'S.
