THOMPSON-4)E -JiAIEvAY, At St. Paul's Anglican pro-Cathedral, Wellington, on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. John Thompson, son of Mr. A. S. Thompson, of Pakuranga, Auckland, was married to Miss Ida de Launay,' only daughter of the late Charles and Madame Pichoir de Launay, of Eltliam, The ceremony was performed bv the Rev. A. M. Johnson. i.Miss Muriel Millar was 'bridesmaid and Mr. D. D. Weir Was best-man. The bride, who was given away by Mr. X. Bnrtou, wore a cream gabardine costume with a large black velvet hat, and carried a beautiful bouquet of pink cyclamen. After the ceremony, the snests were entertained at the Burlington, when the usual toasts were proposed and conpratulatory speeches made. On Mondiy, Mr Thompson, who is a verynopular member of the Wellington Foothall Club, was presented "by his fellowmembers with a pair of entree dishes, am! was also the recipient of a gift of table cutlery from his colleagues'in the Pu'blic Works 'Department.
