BRITISH NAVAL AEROPLANES. ATTACKS ON BELGIAN TOWNS Received Sept- 5, S.lO p.mLondon, Sept. 4. The Admiralty reports that between the 26th August and Ist September aeroplanes, working with the Navy, carried out successful raids upon Ostend and Zeebrugge, dropping 13 tons with excellent results. Large, fires were started. Two direct hits 'Were obtained on an anti-aircraft battery. There were many bursts at the docks. We destroyed two machines aud drova down another uncontrollable. All the British machines returned. Our aeroplanes maintained constant reconnaissance at the Dardanelles, and 'bombed Constantinople on the nights of the 25th and 27th with good results. The attacks were directed against the arsenal, dockyards, War Office, and barracks. Also, we, in co-operation with a Greek unit, heavily bombed an aerodrome at Galata and a seaplane base at Chanak, on Gallipoli. One British machine has not returned. —Aus.-N.Z.
