EFFICIENCY TRUSTEES.
WEEKLY MEETCvG. The »w Plymouth Trustees of tlie I'-iiicioiii'v Board met yesterday, Messrs *T. KiirJong (chairman) and 10. Whittle being present. An apology for absence was received from Mr. F. j. Hill (secretary). A large amount of correspondence was rend from the Wellington Board, and was dealt with as occasion demanded, and a large amount of business was submitted for consideration. The cases and applications dealt with numbered 33. A large number were on account of reservists wlio requested financial assistance. These cases were all considered, and the necessary forms filled in for sending to the Financial Assistance Board. Several business men and heads of firms waited on the trustees in respect to employees recently called up for service. Tt was pointed out that the removal of these men at the present time would seriously dislocate their businesses, and they asked that extension of leave should be granted in order to tide over '■tisy times and, in some cases, to en- I able them to complete contracts. The frirctero. undertook to make representations to the proper authorities, with a vi»w to relieving the situation if pias'ble. Four lady applicants appeared in support of claims on behalf of soldiers at the front. Two reservists engaged in essential businesses asked that thei 5 might have a month's extension of, time before goinj into camp. The reasons assigned were deemed satisfactory, and the matter will ' lie referred to the proper authorities.
