I FINDING AT THE HIMITANGI | INQUIRY. By Telegraph.—Press Association* Wellington, Last Night. At the inquiry into the wreck of the Himitangi at the Chathams on July 29, by the Nautical Court, to-day, the finding was to the effect that the vessel struck an uncharted reef, on to which she was carried by a strong set towards the land. The captain was not blamed, his certificate was returned, and no order was made as to costs. VIGOR BRO-TOra LIBEL ACTION. Napier, Last Night The hearing of the libel action o« Brown v. Vulvanah and Venablea was continued to-day. The witnesses included A. E. Jul! (chairman of the Harbor Board), the Mayor (recalled), and the High School Beard's solicitor and ■secretary. The jury was unable to agree upon, a verdict after four hours' retirement, and a majority verdict could not bo arrived at. t Mr. Skenett, for defendant, wa»gMnt~ ;ed leave to apply for a non-suit, and Sip John Findlay,, for plaintiff, asfcsd for a. ■new trial, but Mr. Justice.
