WELLINGTON DEFEATS WANGANUI. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. The annual inter-college football tournament was concluded to-day, when Wellington College defeated Wanganui Collegiate School by 13' points to 11, after a fast and exciting game. There was a record attendance. The weather was' fine, and the ground in excellent order. For Wellington, Ward and Nichol scored tries, both being converted by Nicholls, who also kicked a goal from mark. For Wanganui, Bryce scored after a sensational run. Glasgow and Weekes aIBO scored tries, one try being converted by Stewart. Some brilliant back play was witnessed, Ward for Wellington and Bryce for Wanganui each running right through the opposition.

Cliarlie Chaplin heads the matinee programme at the Empire Theatre this afternoon in "Behind the Screen," another of the comedies in which the little comedian performs some remarkably humorous stunts. There is "A Lass of tlie Lumberlands" and several other pictures in support. ' To-night Viola Dana will be the chief attraction in the Metro fea* ture, "The Winding Trail," and the supports will include the fourth episode of "A Lass of thp Lumberlands." The World Aim-drama, "Gates of Gladness," stirs those sacrtd emotions of parental love which are so deep-seared in every man and woman. The leading part is taken by the bewitching little kiddie-stair, Madge Evans, whose wistful charm is more appealing than ever. "Gates of Gladness" shows at both matinee and night sessions at Everybody's today. Every elector should know that, in asking that all should sign its Monster Petition asking Parliament to grant a poll on the National Efficiency Board's Report in favor of immediate National Prohibition, the N.Z. Alliance has made it clear that provision must bo made to take the vote of our soldiers on the question. The Alliance holds that no one has so good a right as the man in khaki to decide the question—and it holds it essential that, together with the folks at home, the men fighting for us should be given an opportnnTty of deciding the matter.
