Napier, Last Night. ■ At the Supreme Court, Francis Norton' Thompson, solicitor, of Hastings, was charged with the theft of trust moneys, totalling £>l7Bo, from a client named Gotfried (Petrowski. The jury disagreed! and a now trial was ordered for nexE session. Hejry Martin, farm manager, wa4 charged with the theft of five cattle from the bankrupt estate of F. Cassia. Accused claimed an interest in the cattle, and was found not guilty. Stanley! Alexander Lawless was found not gniltjj of indecent assault. PRISONERS SENTENCED. Invercargil), Last Night' At the Supreme Court, Frank Baghecs, for breaking, entering, and theft, and with a previous bad record, was declared an habitual criminal. Hurry Cooper Douglas, who pleaded! juilly to two charges of receiving stolen' goods, was sentenced to two years on each charge, the terms to be cumulative.' Rangi Otene Rapika, convicted of obtaining money by false pretences, was ordered to come up for sentence when cailed upon. Arthur H. F. Fenn, for forging a cheque-for- £7O and uttering same, was sentenced to reformative detention not eiceedinj five years.
