COMMANDEERED MEAL.

75 PERCENT. AFTER THREE MONTHS IN STORE. Wellington, Last NightThe following cablegram from Sir Joseph Ward, in London, has been received by the Acting-Minister for Finance:—"The Treasury has agreed to pay 75 per cent, on all meat after three months in store, removing the restriction on 80,000 tons measurement or anyother quantity." The above information will be received with much satisfaction, not only by the owners of ethe meat in store, but by the community generally, os it will considerably relieve the gnancial position, owing to the large quantity of meat accumulated as the result* of the shortage of shipping.
