DROWNING FATALITY AT PATEA.

It was reported in Hawera yesteiday that a drowning fatality had occurred at Patea on Wednesday afternoon, between 3 and 4 o'cjlock. From information to hand it appears that Mr. Gordon Butler (manager of a fishing business) and an employee named Jackson, were bringing in a load of fish in a launch, when it was caught between two heavy seas and swamped. Jackson was drown<= ed, but Butler managed to reach the shore. Up till noon yesterday no sign-of the launch had been found. —Star.
