DISTRICT NEWS.
RAHOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent-) •Saturday week the Okato .School boys played a friendly game with the local school boys. Air O'Xeil and Mr Walls had been 1 raining thorn for the fray. Invitations were sent out by Mrs Harrison, the teacher, who was anxious that the affair should be a success and pleasant for both parties. Afternoon tea was served in the school. Mrs Harrison was untiring in her attention to visitors, and a very pleasant afternoon was spent, it being a bright sunshiny day after so much rain. The l'ahocu boys won the game by 24 to nil. On the next Saturday the Raliotu boys returned the match at Okato, with the result that Okato beat them by five point'. The Ladies' Guild euchre party took place on Friday evening, there being a good attendance. Mrs Groom won the lady's prize and Mr Byrnes tne gentleman's, while his sister, Miss Molly, secured the lady's booby.
A grand concert is to be held on the 27th in aid of the Copper Trail, and being for such an object the hall should be packed.
About £">o was subscribed here for the Church Arnr - fund, being collected bv the Ladies' Guild. Mr. Alex. White, Mr-G. Tvlee and Mr Gibson.
Cows are coming in fast and ploughing has started, so the farmers' easy times will be over.
