'l'here were present: Mesdames C. H. Burgess (in the chair), and Mesdames Ambury, Sinclair, Matthews, Nicholson, Blanc'iaro, Russell, Chaney, Hursthouse, M'Hurdy, Allen, and Miss Wade. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Weston, Millar, Campbell, Eraser, *uu Newton King. Nurse Williams reported for the month of July as follows:—New cases, 18; babies under care, 18; breast fed, !!; partially breast fed, 2; artificially fed—i.e., humanised milk, 7; visits to homes, 68; mothers' visits to office, 31; babies' visits to office, 30; visitors to rooms, 84; mothers shown how to prepare milk in homes, G. It was decided that a member of toe committee should bo at the Plunket Rooms every Saturday, and also that a donation-box be placed in the . Tooms calling attention to the need of sunscriptions in order to carry on and keep our nurse here. It was also decided that the rooms should be open to the public every Thursday afternoon from 3 till 4 for the next three Thursdays, a committee woman to be at the looms. The question of the quality of the milk supply was also brought under notice, and the matter is being considered by the committee. The resignation of Mrs. Morrison as a member of the committee was accepted with regTet. Subscriptions as follow were acknowledged:—Mesdames M'Hardy and Cooke, Misses Rawson, G. Mi'llar, and Wade and Friend No. 1, £1 Is each; Mesdames Matthews and Mortimer Jones, £1 each,; Mrs. Ambury, 10s Gd; Mrs. Denny Brown, 10s; Mesdames A. E. Watkins, Blanchard, F. Webster, and r.oebuck, 5s each; total, £ll 7s.
