INGLEWOOD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, August 1(5. There was a very ]arge attendance at the Phrnket Society euchre party and dance on Thursday evening, and somewhere in the region of 100 sat down to euchre, the successful prize-winners being: Ladies, Mrs. Heel 1, Mrs. Hope 2. The former, whose prize was a guinea, 'kindly donated it to the funds of the society. The men's prizes were won by Mr. T. ?sicholls 1 and Mr. Bert Drown 2. It is worthy of mention that the prizes throughout, which were of considerable value, were kindly donated by sympathisers of the movement. The dance was also well patronised, the floor was in splendid order, and the music supplied gratir, by Messrs', Sto?kman and Sutherland, Mr. Fred Codd made an ideal M.G. and kept the ball rolling merrily from etart to finish. Apart from the committee. Messrs Eag'ar, Paterson, Stockman, and <Seabright are entitled to special mention for valuable services rendered in assisting to bring the function to such a successful issue- It is expected that the funds will benefit to the extent of about £l4. . The Inglewood School played Central A to-day and beat the town team toy 34 to nil. The local lbor a have put up a fine record, having scored about 90 points and only had 3 scored against them for the season. Considerable improvements are going on at Die cemetery. The Ihcrigo along the main road, which has borne anything but a creditable appearance, has been cut down and a more artistic structure is likely to replace it at an early date.
