WEST END SCHOOL.
CONFERENCE BETWEEN COUNCIL AND EDUCATION BOARD.
I The members of the Taranaki Education Board waited on the New Plymouth Borough Council on Wednesday night to further press their request for au exchange of properties by the two bodies as between the site of the West End .School and a portion of the reserve on Tukapa and Outfield roads, for the purposes of the erection of an up-to-date school on the latter property- The chairman of the board (Mr R. Masters), .who was chief spokesman for the deputation, said that a lead had been given the council by the action of Stratford and Hawera municipal councils in granting land within their boundaries for educational purposes. He suggested that perhaps the same course might ibe followed as at Hawera, where a.time limit had 'been fixed in which a school on the exchanged site should be built.
Mr. Masters was supported by Messrs C. A. Wilkinson, MP., S. G. Smith, H. Trimble, and P. J.
