At the Education Conference, representing all tho local educational governing bodies, the report of a sub-commit-tee was adopted recommending the principle of compulsory day-time continuation classes for boys and girls to the aga of 18. Where tho holding of technical classes in country districts was practicable and valuable, tho Department should grant a reasonable sum to cover the cost of such a class instead of paying capitation. Except where special provision is made, it should be obligatory on employers to enable employees under IS to attend continuation classes without loss of wages.
