BENZINE DESTROYED.
700 D TO 8000 CASES .LOST. By Telegfapli.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. !A serious fire occurred to-day, between 7000 and 8000 cases of benzine* being destroyed. An alarm was given at 1"0 o'clock, the building being enveloped before the brigade could arrive. The benzine was owned by Wright, Stephenson, and Co., and was insured for £BOOO in the Commercial Union Assurance. The building, owned by G. 13. Porter, was valued between £3OO and £4OO, and was totally destroyed. A smaller build-
ing, also owned by Porter, containing the following stock of benzine—Dexter and Crozier 450 cases, A. B. Donald 220, Porter and Co. 40—also ignited, but the stock was saved.
