AN EXCITING VOYAGE.
scow buffeted about. Received August 13, 9.10 p.m. Sydney, August 13. The scow Cathkit reports an exciting 03 days' voyage from New Zealand. Sfte sailed on June 10, with a cargo 'of timber. Terrific storms and gales were encountered. Huge seas continuously swept the vessel, badly straining the sj'iip and moving the cargo. The pumps were worked incessantly. At the time tiie vessel was right off her course, beNorfolk Island. Another night, during a gale, sta struck a submerged object with terrific force, hut the captain was unable to ascertain the cause. Oil-bags were used with good results—Press Assoc.
