INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, August 10. There was a fair attendance of returned soldiers at the Borough Council Chambers, the object being to form a Soldiers' Club Lieutenant A. Smith presided, and it was eventually decided to form a committee to try and r&nke the necessary arrangements and report at a later date. I The Plunket Society's euchre party and dance arranged fo'r next Thursday promises to be a great success. Excellent prizes for the euchre have been donated by sympathisers of the movement, and a first-class orchestra has been enfiaged for the dance. The object of the f'-nctitin being such a worthy one, a very largo attendance is anticipated. The nurse has only been attending Inglewood about two months, and already has a considerable number of cases in hand, and is doing splendid work, Mr. Branch has to go into hospital to undergo an operation to his knee. The trouble is one of long standing and hopes are entertained that a complete recovery will be made. Changes continue to take place, in connection with businesses generally. Mr. James Roberts, who has just disposed of his tailoring business to Mr, Clem Ust has entered into partnership with Mr. George Taylor. The factories have commenced opera-:, tiens for the season, and the familiar sound of the early morning factory cart is again regularly heard. Mrs Paul, who broke her collar-bone n the recent motor-car accident, is. progressing favorably.
