Mrs <J. B. Purdue, Fitzroy, has received v.'ord that her 'brother, Private J: Everett, of Inyercargill, has been reported as "missing, believed to be drowned,"
Mr and Mrs A. Campbell, of Glenn Road, has received a oalble stating that their son, Colin Campbell, was seriously ill in the Hospital at Gaza, with malaria. Mr Allan Stuart, of the firm of Smart Bros., New Plymouth, who on Thursday was admitted to the Xlew Plymouth hospital for an operation for appendicitis, is progressing favorably. Mr Arthur Morton was yesterday reelected chairman of the Mangorei Dairy Company, a position that he has occupied continuously since the formation of the company 2iA years ago. Mrs H. T. Bishop, Bell Block, has received advice that her son. Trooper A- E. Bishop, was seriously ill with eiAeric fever on August 4th. A later cable states that ho was removed from the seriously ill list to the dangerously ill list on August 6th. The following Taranaki names appear in the latest hospital report:, Seriously ill, A. At St. Joseph's Church, Haw era, on Wednesday, Mr Michael Patrick Condon, of Te. Eoti, was married to Miss Mary Lowry, of Christehurch, the service being conducted by the Very Rev. Dean Power, The bride was attended by Miss Mary Barry, of New Plymouth, -and L. MacReynolds, of Opunake, acted as (best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony a reception was held at the Central Tea Rooms, where the happy couple received very hearty congratulations and good wishes from the numerous guests. Yesterday afternoon Mr W. M. Falconer, who is leaving New Plymouth to enter into partnership with Mr Fairburn, accountant, Wianganui, was presented by the directors of the Taranaki Amusements, Ltd., of which he has been secretary, with a fountain pen and a piece of plate for hi 3 wife, together with a purse of sovereigns from the company. The recipient was entertained by the directors to afternoon tea at the Marble Bar, where good wishes were expressed for his future success, Mr Falooner, who haa held several important appointments in the town with credit to himself and advantage to those concerned, leaves for Wanganui on Tuesday. He will be succeeded by Mr C. H, Wynyard, late of the teaching staff of the New Plymouth High School.
