SCHOOL COMMITTEES' ASSOCIATION.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of Die executive of the Taranaki School Committees' Association was held in the Technical College last night, when there were pre sent: Messrs S. G. Smith (chairman), W. G. Reid (secretary), J. U, Simula (Moa). A. 1\ Lister, 11. H. Grayling, G. K. Dolby, and Jas- Garcia. As showing the interest taken by the school committees in the association, Iho secretary reported that a number of committees, including some in the King Country, liad already sent in their subscriptions. Tile Wellington School Committees' Association wrote asking the views of the association regarding the holding of a Dominion Conference. It v,-as resolved to acknowledge llic letter, and to state that the avocation supports the proposal, anil suggests that such conference should be held while Parliament is in session. Discussion took place over the physical inspection of school children, members being unanimously in favor of this, and it was suggested that aditkmal officers should be appointed to have such inspection effectively carried rmt. Further consideration was deferred till next meeting.
