FURTHER RESOLUTIONS. •

By Telegraph.—Press Association Wellington, Last Night. The Farmers' Union Conferenca passed a resolution expressing appreciation of the Parliamentary Committee's ,report upon the meat and shipping trtlst, and urging t'he Government to see that comprehensive legislation is passed in the enstiing session in order to give f<tfl legislative effect to the committee's Te« commendations. j

Resmits were adopted as follow; That the Government should be strongljr urged to take the proper steps to recognise the labor of the country and discriminate in conscripting labor from essential industries.

That, as farmers were given to believe that the British Government had promised the New Zealand Government certain interests in the Pacific Islaifid phosphates, and we now understand that some large syndicate has puMiased those interests, we therefore ask that the New Zealand Government make- ill" ' quiries.

That this conference. approves oi-'S scheme by which the producers and far-' mers' co-operative companies of the tte*,;' minion could own their own' ships an# ; eventually dispose of their .own produce,-.
